Our Vision

Our community strives to nourish a vibrant, meaningful life for every member.

Follow the Cohousing Model

We follow the cohousing model where residents design their own community, parking is on the periphery, units are individually owned and the common facilities and land are jointly owned. The individual units are arranged in building clusters in order to maximize open, green space. Two units are priced affordably. Regular community meetings shape the direction and growth of the community.

Valuing Children

Children are valued members of the community. They are included in the daily life of the community, and their needs are considered to be as important as the needs of adults.

Sharing Goods and Resources

Whenever possible, sharing of resources is encouraged. Time, tools, transportation and skills may be exchanged by mutual agreement. A local currency may be created in lieu of cash transactions. Bulk purchasing for the common house meals and individual homes may be arranged.

Living Sustainably

We are committed to reducing consumption, to recycling and to conserving natural resources. Our community design conserves energy and water and has a low impact on the land. We are using ecologically-sound building materials where possible. A vegetarian option is available at all common meals.

Supporting the Village Farmer

We are committed to being an environmentally-sound farming community.

Sharing Community Life

We enable each person to create a satisfying balance between solitude and large and small gatherings. We have regular gatherings to celebrate events such as birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and the life of the community.

We resolve conflicts peacefully with a spirit of good will based on mutual respect, support and trust. We treat every person in the community with respect and kindness. We govern ourselves through a consent-based form of governance that streamlines decisions by seeking the absence of dissent to proposals.

Involving Ourselves in the Greater Community

We are part of the greater community and are involved with our neighbors and other communities. We create opportunities to contribute to the well-being of the surrounding community. We choose to be a positive force for change while creating a safe and sustainable environment for ourselves, our families and future generations.

Encouraging Diversity

We value the presence of a broad diversity of perspectives, backgrounds and experiences as we create our community.
