Farming Opportunities

Champlain Valley Cohousing continues to actively seek persons with agricultural desires to join our growing community in Charlotte, VT. Our intention is to create a community that is integrated with the land and to emphasize an agricultural lifestyle. A farming couple has joined our community as partners in CVC. They have established a farming business on the land called Bloomfield Gardens. They farm organically and operate as a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm in addition to selling in local farmers' markets. Other members, within our group, have plans for small scale animal husbandry.

This is a unique opportunity to own land cooperatively in an area of Vermont that might not otherwise be accessible for individual purchase of adequate acreage. There is room for another market grower, as well as for beekeepers, shepherds, weavers, mushroom cultivators, orchardists, and other agricultural producers.

Our land has a total of about 25 acres of agricultural land that will remain open and in production under the terms of our Land Use Agricultural Guidelines and our conservation easement with the Vermont Land Trust. Additional wooded acreage is available for appropriate production consistent with our developing forest management plan.
